What is the Broken Window Theory?
The Broken Window Theory was first introduced in criminology. It suggests that if a broken window is left unrepaired, people begin to think that nobody cares. Soon, more windows are broken, graffiti appears, litter accumulates, and the environment deteriorates.
The same principle applies in the workplace.
When small quality issues are ignored, they gradually become accepted as "normal." Over time, standards decline, and bigger problems begin to appear.
